Winter Solstice Celebration – Dec. 20 & 21, 7pm, Free, Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis, 615 W. 43rd Street (doors open at 6:30 pm).

Now in its 13th year, the Winter Solstice Celebration is a joyous night of storytelling and singing for all ages to welcome the return of the sun. The event is a collaboration among Central Indiana Unitarian Universalists. More info at http://indysolstice.com.
Universal Hour of Peace – Dec. 31, 11:30 pm-12:30 am, Free, Sacred Path, 1818 W. 57th Street (sign says Circle UU Fellowship, entrance in back)
Set your intention for the new year with songs of peace and healing for our planet. Begun in 1995, The Universal Hour of Peace invites people of all nations, cultures, and creeds to join together in creating peace on Earth by dedicating their thoughts and actions to peace within Self and with others for one hour a year at noon Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time).
SongSquadIndy’s first non-auditioned, all ages, radically inclusive singing group.We sing everything from simple rounds to pop songs to lush 3-4 harmony tunes from other continents. Singing options include weekly sessions, monthly sessions, and SongSquad “Show-Ups.”

What to expect:
- Paperless singing in a perfection-free zone. No judgment, just joy!
- All songs taught through call and response. No music reading ability needed … really!
- No singing experience needed
- Lots of movement (adaptable to all mobility levels)
- Pam’s shortbread cookies, and hot ginger tea to sooth the voice. Bring some water to drink to stay hydrated.
